What is a Business Growth Specialist and Why Do I Need One?

If my business is doing well and I am already generating 6 figures in Revenue, why would I want to hire a Business Growth Specialist??

That is a great question.  The truth is, we often think we don’t need outside help once we start generating some revenue or turning a profit.  I know that when I hired my first business coach, I had been in business for about 10 years or more, was doing multiple 7 figures in revenue, had 25 employees and running 6 offices in 2 states with 3 divisions.  Why on earth would I need a coach?

To the outside observer, it would seem that I had everything under control.  However, you have probably heard before that ‘what got you here, won’t get you where you want to go’.  I needed an outside set of eyes on my business and an outside viewpoint.  I needed the counsel of someone who understood what it would take to get to the next level.

That is why even today I have an Accountability Coach to work with.  Someone that will ask me the hard questions and hold my feet to the fire.  Do you have someone like that in your corner helping you and your business to be the best you can be, helping you to stay focused on the bigger picture and know what steps to take to get there in the fastest most efficient way possible?

So, what does a Business Growth Specialist do?

Let me ask you a question.  How much time do you spend running your business?  Have you lost the ability to spend time with your family because you are always working in your business?  Do your spouse and children remember who you are?  When was the last time you made it to one of your children’s events – ball game, play, birthday party…?

Okay, so let’s talk about what the Business Growth Specialist can do for you.

Since you have already generated your first 6 figures in business, you know that running a business is not all about turning a profit.  And, by the way, let’s be real.  Was that 6 figures revenue or profit?  There is a huge difference.  Revenue is the money coming in the door, profit is the money dropping to the bottom line and available to re-invest in the business or put in your pocket.

Running a business successfully, which most entrepreneurs are not trained to do, involves understanding and knowing what to do about all of the other things beyond profit, like personnel issues – how do you hire and keep the right people, strategic planning – creating it, adjusting it, and staying on track so that you always know where you are going and how to get there, building your business in such a way that it runs without you – if you ever want to sell your business, this one factor alone can dramatically improve the price you can get for it.

Those are just a few of the things that you, the business owner need to be focused on, and for  which you generally don’t have all the answers.

A Business Growth Strategist is going to help you get clarity on what is happening inside your organization from the numbers to the people and everything in between.  They can help you know where the most important areas are to invest your time in order to bring the greatest numbers to the bottom line.  Sometimes that is as simple as a few tweaks.

Everyone talks about lead generation and lead conversion as the most important things you need to focus on.  But the reality is that is not true for every business.  A good look at your business and your numbers will help us to zero in on the areas that will bring the greatest profit through your business, not just the greatest revenue.

Which would you rather have, a business that is doing $1,000,000 in revenue and generating a profit of $250,000.  Or a business that is making $500,000 in revenue and generating a profit of $250,000.    I am hearing most of you say the $500,000 business.  Why?  Because it is a lot less work than the $1,000,000 company with the same amount of Profit.

You see, profit is very important but doesn’t get the attention it needs. Most business owners are busy chasing Revenue instead of maximizing Profits.  A good Business Growth Strategist can help you figure out which is best for your business and then help you create and implement the strategy to achieve it.  And by the way, they will hold you accountable for following through on your commitments to yourself.

What if I could show you that building Profits is much easier and less expensive than building Revenue?  And that I can show you a guaranteed way to do that?  Would that be of interest to you?

There are 6 areas that need to be focused on in order to achieve this.

  1. Strategy
  2. Sales and Marketing
  3. Operations
  4. People
  5. Systems
  6. Finance

As a Business Growth Specialist, we focus on all six areas to achieve maximum results.
